-I hope you saw the adorable pictures of the children dancing the Argentine tango on Facebook.  They are unforgettable!  If you didn't get to see them, you can still view them.  I saw them dance the tango one day during Music class.  It was priceless!  J

Reading:  Mama's Birthday Present
-skills:  long a:  ai, ay, introduce possessives, draw conclusions, introduce adjectives
-story test Thursday

Spelling:  ai, ay words
-pretest Monday
-dictation Wednesday
-final test Friday

List 1:  afraid, day, gray, mail, may, play, rain, tail, train, way, about, would

List 2:  brain, chain, paint, strain, always, birthday, stray, today, everyone’s, Mama’s, about, would

Math:  Chapter 6:  Count and Model Numbers
-skills:  hands on-model, read, and write numbers from 110-120, chapter 6 test

Science:  Chapter 7:  Weather

Social Studies:  integrated with reading

-Don’t forget to read for Book It!  March is the last month.

-The children are really enjoying buddy reading for AR!  I’m amazed at how they constantly ask to read to their friends and take AR tests!  The tests can be a little tricky, so please encourage your child to read carefully so he/she can keep his/her scores high.  Thanks!


-The vision screenings we were supposed to have had during the snow days will be rescheduled for a later date.  As soon as I find out the date I will let you know.

Religion:  Unit 3 Wrap Up
We will pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary this week.
Saint of the Week:  Our Lady of Lourdes

Reading:  Unit 3 Review
-skills:  review of skills learned in Unit 3
-We will be working on writing skills all week.

Spelling:  words learned in Unit 3
-dictation Wednesday
-test Friday

Spelling Word Lists:
-The test will be on words picked from Unit 3.

Math:  Chapter 6:  Count and Model Numbers
-skills:  tens and ones to 100, problem solving-show numbers in different ways, hands on-model, read, and write numbers from 100-110

Science and Social Studies:  Abraham Lincoln and George Washington

The children may bring in Valentines Friday to exchange.  Due to our policy on snacking and food allergies, children are NOT allowed to bring in valentines with ANY type of candy attached to them or valentines that are packages of candy.


Students may wear a RED shirt on Friday, February 13 with UNIFORM bottoms. No hats.
