1ST GRADE NEWSLETTER ~ MAY 4-8, 2015

Religion:  Chapter 17:  Jesus' Followers Become the Church

Last Market Day Order = Free Dress DayThis is the last Market Day order of the year. This month is a BONUS month and we can earn more money the more we purchase.  The focus of the sale is on Market Day Pizzas and Cookies.  Orders are due to school by MAY 7, OR you can order ONLINE. All orders must be PREPAID!
Students who purchase one pizza or box of cookies OR make a $10 donation will get a FREE DRESS Day on Market Day Pick Up- Wednesday, May 13.

We are excited to announce the 1st Annual K-3/4-6 Campus PTO Luau “Date Night” for Fathers and Daughters and Mothers and Sons. The Father/Daughter Luau will be Tuesday, May 19 and the Mother/Son Luau will be Wednesday, May 20. Both events will take place at Blessed Mother Parish Hall from 5:30-8:00. There will be games, dancing, entertainment, photos, and refreshments. The cost is $10 per couple and $5 for each additional child. Please send in your RSVP! Checks should be made to the OCES PTO.

END OF THE YEAR EVENTS:

Picnic to Legion Park- May 22- 8:30-1:00- Volunteers needed!!
Each year we take the entire school to Legion Park by bus for a fun day to celebrate everyone's reading achievements for the year. Parents and younger siblings come and it is a day of fun for the whole family! We will serve lunch at the park. Parents may also eat, but will need to reserve their lunch ahead of time. More details and information will come later. In the event of rain, the make-up date for the picnic will be May 26.

Spring Fling- May 29
The Spring Fling is sponsored by the PTO. It is a fun day for all students. The gym becomes an "Inflatable Playground". Each grade level gets to go to the gym for an hour of fun climbing, sliding, going through obstacle courses and jumping in a variety of bounce houses.
Volunteers are needed to supervise and work either morning or afternoon shifts. If you would like to volunteer please contact Jennifer Hawes at:

Last Day Prayer Service- June 4- 10:30
We will have a Prayer Service to celebrate our accomplishments and "send off" our 3rd grade students with a blessing as they leave the K-3 Campus and move on next year. Students may leave with a parent or guardian as soon as the Prayer Service is over. If you are not attending the prayer service, you can pick your child up at 11:00. There is NO After School Program on the last day of school.
